A Cat Straight out of a Nightmare

Crafted this artwork inspired by an illustration I stumbled upon on Pinterest. I was captivated by the original art and felt compelled to translate it into 3D – and here's the result!

Here, you can observe the progression from the initial render tests to the final pass. Initially, I hadn't planned to create an environment, but I'm pleased with the decision to include it.

Here's the ZBrush model I created. It started as a study for a future project, but I grew fond of it over time. I liked it so much that I decided to take inspiration from an original artwork I found on Pinterest.

Upon completing the model and performing a swift retopology using ZRemesher, I proceeded to generate UVs. The subsequent step involved applying textures within Substance 3D Painter, predominantly utilizing generators for the process.

I created a simple rig to control the model's movements after finalizing its textures. While I employed Automatic Weights for the paw, I encountered difficulties using this approach for the body and skull. Consequently, I manually painted each bone.

Here are most of the references I gathered for this project.
